Information
1/2 troy ounce gold Maple Leaf coin
The 1/2 troy ounce gold Maple Leaf is the second largest coin in the very popular Maple Leaf series from The Royal Canadian Mint. These coins are among the most well-known and widely traded gold coins in the world. The 1/2 troy ounce coin is minted in pure gold with a purity of 99.99%.The 1/2 troy ounce gold Maple Leaf is - just like the larger 1 troy ounce coin - very attractive to investors due to its high content of pure gold. This makes the coin very valuable and easily tradable worldwide.
The gold Maple Leafs from previous years are generally cheaper than the newly minted coins, while the weight and content remain the same. This allows buyers to receive proportionally more gold for their money. All gold Maple Leafs we sell are checked for authenticity, weight and content.

Gold Maple Leaf series
The Canadian Maple Leaf series was first issued in 1979. Then only the 1 troy ounce was available to investors. A few years later the smaller denominations followed, including this 1/2 troy ounce gold Maple Leaf coin. The Maple Leaf series has since become one of the most popular and globally known series among the gold investment coins. The Maple Leaf is issued as 1 troy ounce, 1/2 troy ounce, 1/4 troy ounce, 1/10 troy ounce and even 1/20 troy ounce gold coin. The design of the gold Maple Leafs has remained the same for years except for minor improvements, such as the addition of security features. Since the introduction, the obverse of the coin has been adorned by the Maple Leaf, the national symbol of Canada. A portrait of Queen Elizabeth II adorned the reverse up till 2023.

Investment score
This product has an A-label (Our top 100 products). This means that it is one of our most common products. When purchasing physical precious metals, we recommend looking at both the lowest price per gram and the lowest spread. The spread indicates the difference between the buying and selling price. An A-label means this is a favorable choice when buying gold and silver.
Label informationInvestment score: An A-label means that this is one of our most common products. When purchasing physical precious metals, we advise looking at both the lowest price per gram and the lowest spread. The spread indicates the difference between the buying and selling price. An A-label signifies that this is a favorable choice when buying gold and silver.
Investment score: A B-label means that this is a common coin or bar, which is widely tradable worldwide. However, a product with this label is more expensive than a product with an A-label, so as an investment in physical gold and silver, this product is not the most cost-effective choice.
Investment score: A C-label means that this is a less favorable investment choice compared to a product with a higher investment score. Products with a C-label are considered collectibles.
