On the reverse, designed by Martin Jennings, is the portrait of King Charles III.The Golden Sovereign coin is renowned as 'the world's premier coin' and is minted in 22-carat gold. Its purity is guaranteed to five decimal places (purity of .91667), making it one of the most rigorously specified coins globally. Golden Sovereign coins contain a mixture of copper, rendering them highly resistant to scratches and damages. The gross weight of the coins is 7.99 grams, containing 7.32 grams of pure gold.
The coins have a diameter of 22.05 millimeters and contain 0.235 troy ounces of pure gold. They are supplied in tubes of 25 pieces each.
