Gold Medal Napoleone Sovrano dell'Elba
This special gold medal from Italy honors Napoleon Bonaparte as “Sovrano dell'Elba” – ruler of the island of Elba during his exile from 1814 to 1815. The medal is made of 18 carat gold (75%) and weighs 5.03 grams, which corresponds to 3.77 grams of pure gold.The obverse shows a powerful portrait of Napoleon in uniform, surrounded by the inscription “NAPOLEONE SOVRANO DELL'ELBA”. The reverse shows an eagle with outspread wings, above the coat of arms of Elba with three bees. The motto “UBICUMQUE FELIX” (wherever he is, happy) refers to Napoleon's short reign on the island.
