Information

2 troy ounce silver coin Krugerrand Proof

The Krugerrand was the first gold investment coins in the world. It was first minted in 1967 by order of the South African government. In 2017, the South African Mint started minting the silver krugerrands. Since then, the coins have become indispensable when it comes to physical bullion coins.

The design of the silver krugerrand is the same as the gold coin. On the obverse you can see the iconic springbok antelope and on the other side former South African president Paul Kruger. The worldwide mintage is limited to only 10,000 pieces.

The coin has a weight of 2 troy ounce (62,206 grams) fine silver (99.99%). The coin also has quality proof, this is the highest possible quality for coins. Various techniques have been applied to these coins that improve the quality of the coin. As a result, this 2 troy ounce silver Krugerrand proof coin from 2022 has mirror-like surfaces and clear, razor-sharp details! Proof coins are therefore struck one by one, packed in capsules and only handled with gloves.

2 troy ounce silver coin Krugerrand Proof front

Obverse

On the obverse of the coin you see a springbok, which is a reference to the Witwatersrand (the nature reserve after which the coin was named). All around you can see the inscriptions KRUGERRAND - the name of the coin, FYNSILWER 1 OZ FINE SILVER - the weight and purity of the coin and 2022 - the year of issue.

2 troy ounce silver coin Krugerrand Proof back

Reverse

The same design is used on the back of the silver Krugerrand as on the gold version. The back shows an image of Paul Kruger, the former president of South Africa. In addition, you will see the inscriptions SUD AFRICA - SOUTH AFRICA, the country of origin.

Investment score

This product has a C-label (Collectibles). This means it is a less favorable investment choice compared to a product with a higher investment score. We consider products with a C-label to be collectibles. These are often coins minted in limited quantities, with luxury packaging and a unique theme.

Label information
A-label

Investment score: An A-label means that this is one of our most common products. When purchasing physical precious metals, we advise looking at both the lowest price per gram and the lowest spread. The spread indicates the difference between the buying and selling price. An A-label signifies that this is a favorable choice when buying gold and silver.

B-label

Investment score: A B-label means that this is a common coin or bar, which is widely tradable worldwide. However, a product with this label is more expensive than a product with an A-label, so as an investment in physical gold and silver, this product is not the most cost-effective choice.

Investment-score: C-label

Investment score: A C-label means that this is a less favorable investment choice compared to a product with a higher investment score. Products with a C-label are considered collectibles.
