Information

Buy 1 troy ounce silver Kangaroo coin

The silver Kangaroo coin is an iconic product of The Perth Mint in Australia. This coin was introduced in August 2015 as a silver counterpart to the popular gold Kangaroo coin. Unlike the gold variant, the silver Kangaroo coins have the same timeless design every year, based on the original design of the Australian Nugget from 1990.

Traded under the margin scheme

These silver Kangaroo coins have been bought back by us from private individuals and carefully checked for authenticity, weight and silver content. Because these are coins from previous years, we can offer them at a sharper price than newly minted silver coins. In addition, these coins are still subject to the old margin scheme, which offers additional benefits when purchasing.

With a face value of 1 Australian dollar and legal tender status in Australia, the silver Kangaroo coin offers not only security but also tax benefits. Thanks to the margin scheme, this investment coin is available at a competitive price and is ideal for both new and experienced investors.

Design of the silver Kangaroo coin of 1 troy ounce

Obverse

The obverse of the coin features a running kangaroo, inspired by the original design of the 1990 gold coin, better known as the Gold Nugget. Around the edge of the coin are the words AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO, the silver purity 1 oz 9999 SILVER, the year of issuance and the P for The Perth Mint.

Reverse

The reverse of the coin features a portrait of King Charles III (for recent issuances) or Queen Elizabeth II (for earlier years), designed by Jody Clark. Surrounding the portrait are the name of the monarch ELIZABETH II or CHARLES III, the country of issuance AUSTRALIA, and the face value of 1 DOLLAR. In addition, the coin features a small security emblem, subtly placed near the first A for AUSTRALIA.

Investment score

This product has an A-label (Our top 100 products). This means that it is one of our most common products. When purchasing physical precious metals, we recommend looking at both the lowest price per gram and the lowest spread. The spread indicates the difference between the buying and selling price. An A-label means this is a favorable choice when buying gold and silver.

Label information
Investment-score: A-label

Investment score: An A-label means that this is one of our most common products. When purchasing physical precious metals, we advise looking at both the lowest price per gram and the lowest spread. The spread indicates the difference between the buying and selling price. An A-label signifies that this is a favorable choice when buying gold and silver.

Investment-score: B-label

Investment score: A B-label means that this is a common coin or bar, which is widely tradable worldwide. However, a product with this label is more expensive than a product with an A-label, so as an investment in physical gold and silver, this product is not the most cost-effective choice.

Investment-score: C-label

Investment score: A C-label means that this is a less favorable investment choice compared to a product with a higher investment score. Products with a C-label are considered collectibles.
