1 troy ounce silver Krugerrand proof coin 2022
The Krugerrand was the world's first gold bullion coin. It was first minted in 1967 by order of the South African government. In 2017, the South African Mint started minting the silver krugerrands. Since then, the coins have become indispensable when it comes to physical investment coins. The coin has a weight of 1 troy ounce (31.103 grams) fine silver (99.99%). The coin also has quality proof, this is the highest possible quality for coins. Various techniques have been applied to these coins that improve the quality of the coin. As a result, this 1 troy ounce silver Krugerrand proof coin from 2022 has mirror-like surfaces and clear, razor-sharp details! Proof coins are therefore minted one by one, packed in capsules and only handled with gloves.
The silver 2022 Krugerrand features the same design as the original gold coin: former South African President Paul Kruger on one side and the iconic Springbok antelope on the other. The worldwide mintage is limited to 20,000 pieces.
Obverse
On the obverse of the coin you see a springbok, which is a reference to the Witwatersrand (the nature reserve after which the coin was named). All around you can see the inscriptions KRUGERRAND - the name of the coin, FYNSILWER 1 OZ FINE SILVER - the weight and purity of the coin and 2022 - the year of issue.
Reverse
The same design is used on the back of the silver Krugerrand as on the gold version. The back shows an image of Paul Kruger, the former president of South Africa. In addition, you will see the inscriptions SUD AFRICA - SOUTH AFRICA, the country of origin.

Investment score
This product has a C-label (Collectibles). This means it is a less favorable investment choice compared to a product with a higher investment score. We consider products with a C-label to be collectibles. These are often coins minted in limited quantities, with luxury packaging and a unique theme.
Label informationInvestment score: An A-label means that this is one of our most common products. When purchasing physical precious metals, we advise looking at both the lowest price per gram and the lowest spread. The spread indicates the difference between the buying and selling price. An A-label signifies that this is a favorable choice when buying gold and silver.
Investment score: A B-label means that this is a common coin or bar, which is widely tradable worldwide. However, a product with this label is more expensive than a product with an A-label, so as an investment in physical gold and silver, this product is not the most cost-effective choice.
Investment score: A C-label means that this is a less favorable investment choice compared to a product with a higher investment score. Products with a C-label are considered collectibles.
