Information

Gold Maple Leaf 2025 of 1 troy ounce

The gold Maple Leaf coin was first issued in 1979 and was the first investment coin in the world to be struck with a purity of 99.99% pure gold. The 1 troy ounce coin has since grown into one of the most recognised and sought-after gold coins in the world.

The 1 troy ounce gold Maple Leaf coin is a popular investment coin and the 2025 coin is already the 46th edition with the distinctive Maple Leaf, the official symbol of Canada. Thanks to the coin's high gold content of 99.99% pure gold and its well-known status, it is easily tradeable worldwide. This makes the coin an attractive choice for investors.

We supply coins of year 2025. These coins are newly minted and purchased directly from official distributors of The Royal Canadian Mint.

Reverse

The reverse of the coin shows a portrait of King Charles III, designed by Steven Rosati. Above the portrait is the name of the King and below is the nominal value of the coin 50 DOLLARS and the year of issue added.

Security features of the gold Maple Leaf

The Royal Canadian Mint has added various security features to its 1 troy ounce gold Maple Leaf coins. These features make it harder to fully counterfeit the coins and in addition, fakes are also easier to recognise by the absence of the security features.
The features can be found on both the obverse and reverse of the coin:
  • Advanced micro-engraved security markings, which are barely noticeable to the naked eye, are incorporated directly into the coin's design.
  • Radial lines varying in width and depth not only add a layer of complexity and beauty to the design, but are also incredibly difficult to replicate.

Investment score

This product has an A-label (Our top 100 products). This means that it is one of our most common products. When purchasing physical precious metals, we recommend looking at both the lowest price per gram and the lowest spread. The spread indicates the difference between the buying and selling price. An A-label means this is a favorable choice when buying gold and silver.
