Information

Gold Beowulf 2024 coin

This 1 troy ounce gold collectible coin comes from The Royal Mint and is the first coin in a series of a total of three coins based on historical British myths and stories. First, the mythical creature Beowulf is the title character of this special coin series from The Royal Mint.

According to scholars, the poem Beowulf is believed to have originated between the eighth and 11th centuries. This poem is known to be the longest surviving work in Old English. Christian allegorical elements can also be identified in the poem, with the title character Beowulf symbolizing the struggle between good and evil, and the story's original villain, Grendel, said to be descended from the biblical Cain, the first murderer.

In addition to the gold Beowulf, The Royal Mint is also issuing a silver Beowulf coin
