Information
American Gold Buffalo
Introduced in 2006, the American Gold Buffalo is the first 24-carat gold bullion coin issued by the United States Mint. Prior to the introduction of this gold Buffalo coin, there was no other gold bullion coin in the United States minted in fine gold. The American Gold Buffalo is admired for its high purity and beautiful design. The design is originally used with the Indian Head nickel. At the reverse of this coin an Bison (buffalo) is portraited. Gold Buffalo coins are legal tender in the United States of America and their face value is $50.We offer gold Buffalo coins from the current year of issue unless stated otherwise. All these coins are freshly produced by the mint and in excellent condition. The US Mint offers gold Buffalo coins in a sealed strip of 10 coins. Therefore we do not offer these coins in tubes, like most other gold bullion coins. Other quantities are packed in a plastic coin cover

Obverse
The obverse of the American Buffalo coin is based on the original Indian Head Nickel design from 1931, designed by James Earle Fraser. He was an American sculptor from Winona, Minnesota, who grew up on the American frontier in the late 1800s. A beautiful American bison is depicted and it reflects James Earle Fraser's vision of the American West. The design is a true classic and much appreciated, which gives the American Buffalo coin a beautiful appearance. The face value, country of issue, weight and content can also be read.
Reverse
The reverse of the 1 troy ounce gold American Buffalo depicts a Buffalo. The design was created by James Earle Fraser. Surrounding the Buffalo are various features of the coin such as the country of issue UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the face value $50, the weight 1 OZ and the gold content .999 FINE GOLD. In addition, the reverse also reads IN GOD WE TRUST, the official motto of the US, and E PLURIBUS UNUM. This stands for ‘out of many one’ the unofficial motto of the United States.

Investment score
This product has a B-label (Common bullion coins and bars). This means that it is a common coin or bar that is easily tradable worldwide. However, a product with this label is more expensive than a product with an A-label, so as an investment in physical gold and silver, this product is not the most cost-effective choice. Examples of coins with a B-label are coins with a lower mintage.
Label informationInvestment score: An A-label means that this is one of our most common products. When purchasing physical precious metals, we advise looking at both the lowest price per gram and the lowest spread. The spread indicates the difference between the buying and selling price. An A-label signifies that this is a favorable choice when buying gold and silver.
Investment score: A B-label means that this is a common coin or bar, which is widely tradable worldwide. However, a product with this label is more expensive than a product with an A-label, so as an investment in physical gold and silver, this product is not the most cost-effective choice.
Investment score: A C-label means that this is a less favorable investment choice compared to a product with a higher investment score. Products with a C-label are considered collectibles.
