The 1 gram gold Panda coin was issued in 2024 by the China Gold Coin Corporation. Gold Panda coins were introduced in 1982 and were minted in troy ounce sizes until 2016. Since 2016, the mint uses the metric system and the coins are minted in weights of 30 grams, 15 grams, 8 grams and in this edition: the 1 gram gold Panda coin variant.Unlike the gold Maple Leaf or Krugerrand, this coin does not weigh 1/20 troy ounce but one gram of 99.99% pure gold. In its country of origin, China, the coin has a face value of 10 Yuan. The coin has a diameter of 10 millimeters.
The obverse shows the updated Panda design. The reverse shows the Temple of Heaven, an important house of worship for the Chinese that stands in Beijing.
