This gold coin is struck in proof quality and is 99.99% pure gold.The Perth Mint's Lunar collectible coins are based on the Chinese zodiac calendar and the great Chinese race. This zodiac consists of 12 animals and every 12 years this calendar repeats. 2023 is in the sign of the rabbit. According to Chinese legend, each animal influences the personality of people born in the year of that animal. According to the legend, people born in the year of the rabbit are intelligent and creative.
The Perth Mint is currently publishing its third Lunar series. After the success of the first two series, Lunar III was launched in 2020. Each year, a new series of coins will be released featuring one of the animals from the Chinese zodiac.
Design gold Lunar 2023 proof
Obverse
The gold Lunar 2023 coins show a rabbit jumping through various types of grass on the obverse. Ing Ing Jong's design is characterised by its many exquisite details. As a result, even the rabbit's fur is clearly visible. The coin also features the Chinese sign of rabbit with the text "RABBIT 2023" underneath. In addition, the distinctive small "p", the sign of The Perth Mint appears on this side of the coin.
Reverse
The reverse of the coin features an effigy of Her Majesty King Elizabeth II - designed by Jody Clark. The outer side of the design shows the weight, face value and gold content.
Packaging
This gold coin is struck in a limited edition of 5,000 pieces worldwide and comes with certificate of authenticity. The included red packaging is designed for the gold Lunar 2023 coins and features a beautiful drawing of a the end of the great Chinese race.
