The 1/10 troy ounce silver Britannia coins are minted by The Royal Mint and each contain 3,11 grams of 99,9% fine silver.These coins are a relatively inexpensive way to invest in small denominations of silver. The coins come in tubes of 16, and a full monsterbox contains 320 coins.
In 1987, sculptor Philip Nathan created an iconic incarnation of Britannia for a new bullion coin from The Royal Mint. More than 35 years later, the design is revered as a modern classic and the Britannia coin is recognized worldwide as a flagship product of The Royal Mint.
The 1/10 troy ounce silver Britannia coin has a face value of 20 cents in its country of origin. The coin has a diameter of 16.50 millimeters and comes in 16 pieces in a tube. A full sample box contains 320 coins, or 20 tubes.
Design of the 1/10 troy ounce silver Britannia coin
Obverse
The obverse of the coin depicts Lady Britannia with the new security features. Around it are the inscriptions 1/10 OZ - the weight of the coin, 999 FINE SILVER - the grade and metal type, BRITANNIA - the name of the coin and 2024 - the year of issue.
Reverse
The reverse shows the effigy King Charles III. Around it are the inscriptions 20 PENCE - the face value of the coin, CHARLES III - the name of the king and D. G. REX. F. D. - the Latin abbreviation for "in God's grace, king."
Security features on the coin
The design features several symbols that represent and reflect the nation. For example, the design shows a shield for protection, an olive branch for peace and a trident to represent seafaring.
