Information

2 troy ounce silver coin Kookaburra gilded 2022

A recent addition to the Australian Kookaburra coin series, this stunning gold release features the latest kookaburra design. Known as the ‘king of the bush’, the kookaburra has been featured on Perth Mint coins for over 30 years, delighting collectors with much-loved artistic representations of the iconic bird.

The coin portrays a kookaburra perched on an ornamental bird bath among Agapanthus, flowering plants regularly seen in Australian gardens. Together with the coin’s rims and serrated edge, the bird is superbly gilded in 24-carat gold. Also in the design is The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

As every year, the obverse shows an image of a kookaburra. This year, the kookaburra is depicted on the edge of an ornate birdbath. African lilies can be seen in the background, these are common in Australian gardens. This is an interesting detail. The kookaburra itself contains beautiful details that make the feathers stand out nicely. The 'Kookaburra' can be read along the edge of the coin. This attracts a lot of attention. In addition, the 'P' mintmark can also be seen. This can be found on all coins of the Perth Mint. The Kookaburra coin has a beautiful appearance and is the perfect asset for those who are fans of the Kookaburra series.

The reverse of the Kookaburra coin shows the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The effigy was designed by Jody Clark and has a refined look. The country of issue, Australia, and the nominal value can be read all around.

Investment score

This product has a C-label (Collectibles). This means it is a less favorable investment choice compared to a product with a higher investment score. We consider products with a C-label to be collectibles. These are often coins minted in limited quantities, with luxury packaging and a unique theme.

Label information
A-label

Investment score: An A-label means that this is one of our most common products. When purchasing physical precious metals, we advise looking at both the lowest price per gram and the lowest spread. The spread indicates the difference between the buying and selling price. An A-label signifies that this is a favorable choice when buying gold and silver.

B-label

Investment score: A B-label means that this is a common coin or bar, which is widely tradable worldwide. However, a product with this label is more expensive than a product with an A-label, so as an investment in physical gold and silver, this product is not the most cost-effective choice.

Investment-score: C-label

Investment score: A C-label means that this is a less favorable investment choice compared to a product with a higher investment score. Products with a C-label are considered collectibles.
