Information
Platinum Maple Leaf coin 1 troy ounce 2023/2024
With its refined design of the signature Canadian maple leaf and the high purity of 99.95%, this 1 troy ounce platinum Maple Leaf coin is a valuable addition to any precious metal collection. The platinum Maple Leaf coin has a diameter of 30 mm and is 2.62 mm thick. The platinum Maple Leaf coin is issued by the official mint of Canada, the Royal Canadian Mint. The first Platinum Maple Leaf coins were struck in 1988. The standard 1 troy ounce platinum Maple Leaf was then introduced along with the smaller fractional coins of half, a quarter, a tenth and a twentieth troy ounce. The striking of platinum coins by the Royal Canadian Mint was halted in the period from 2003 to 2009. After that, production resumed, but only of the 1 troy ounce coins.
The coins are a legal tender in Canada and have a nominal value of 50 Canadian dollars. This platinum investment coin is recognized and easily tradable worldwide. Platinum is rarer than gold and silver. Due to this rarity, the platinum Maple Leaf coins are minted annually in limited editions and are therefore very popular among investors.
All platinum 1 troy ounce Maple Leaf coins are packaged in a plastic coin sleeve.

Buying platinum as an investment
Platinum is an attractive addition to the investment portfolio. The demand for this precious metal comes primarily from industry. Platinum is used as a raw material in the production of car catalysts, the refining of crude oil, in consumer electronics (LCD TVs and PCs), for jewellery and various dental and medical applications.Platinum coins are available in different versions and are minted by various national mints, including the Royal Canadian Mint. These coins have a nominal value and therefore fall under the margin scheme. This means that - unlike with platinum bars - no VAT has to be paid when buying platinum coins, only on the profit margin of the trader.

Investment score
This product has an A-label. This means that it is one of our most common products. When purchasing physical precious metals, we recommend looking at both the lowest price per gram and the lowest spread. The spread indicates the difference between the buying and selling price. An A-label means this is a favorable choice when buying gold and silver.
Label informationInvestment score: An A-label means that this is one of our most common products. When purchasing physical precious metals, we advise looking at both the lowest price per gram and the lowest spread. The spread indicates the difference between the buying and selling price. An A-label signifies that this is a favorable choice when buying gold and silver.
Investment score: A B-label means that this is a common coin or bar, which is widely tradable worldwide. However, a product with this label is more expensive than a product with an A-label, so as an investment in physical gold and silver, this product is not the most cost-effective choice.
Investment score: A C-label means that this is a less favorable investment choice compared to a product with a higher investment score. Products with a C-label are considered collectibles.
